Our Mission

Our Mission is simple – to enhance our children’s educational experience by providing additional funding for programs that would not otherwise be offered.

More than ever before there is need to further supplement the funding that Oak Park schools receive. The “Friends of Oak Park Education Foundation” was established so that as a community, with a strong tradition of sharing responsibility, we can all augment the resources available to our schools and preserve programs that are in danger of reduction or even elimination, thereby benefiting our children and providing them with the best possible educational experience.

By working with dedicated parents and generous business partners in Southern California, we work to raise money to support educational programs that would not otherwise be funded.

So how can you help?  Whether by donations, volunteerism, attending Friends of Oak Park Schools Education Foundation’s great events or communicating your ideas to us, we are deeply committed to providing all of our children the best educational experience possible.

In the past, we have supported music and science education in all of our schools, and look to grow additional programs now and in the future.

Who is on the Board of the Education Foundation?

The directors are parents and community leaders dedicated to working with the superintendent, school board, school-based PTAs & PFCs, and parents. There are representatives on the board from each of the five schools in the Oak Park Unified School District, as well as community members who no longer have children in the District.
